Artist: Tokenview
Project: “What can I do” single
Publicist/s: Monique Rothstein
For: Released through Inertia
Release Date: Taken from the album "Patience At Sea" due to be released August 2009

What Can I Do is the first track taken from Tokenview’s highly anticipated upcoming debut album, Patience At Sea. An ambitious tune about the nature of dependence, the single features swirling grand piano, unnerving chord changes and a Keith Moon-esque drum arrangement. The bridge includes a guest lead vocal from Wally De Backer (aka Gotye), who is joined by his bandmates Kris and Tim from The Basics, resulting in a heavily anthemic lead single which evokes a strong Australian-centric pop sensibility.

Tokenview’s adventurous and diverse forthcoming record also features collaborations with Midnight Oil legend Rob Hirst and Melbourne songstress (and triple J Unearthed Winner), Megan Washington. A video for What Can I Do has just been completed, written & directed by the acclaimed Josh Groom (Angus & Julia Stone, Birds Of Tokyo), whose clip for Angus & Julia Stone’s Just a Boy won an IF award, as well as receiving J Award & ARIA nominations.

The outfit have previously released two well received indie EPs and garnered a formidable live reputation that has seen them sell out countless headline shows as well as invited to support the likes of the Foo Fighters, Birds of Tokyo, Dappled Cities and The Mess Hall.
